Asbury Church is a community of faith living into the likeness of Christ. We seek to grow toward wholeness and holiness by following Christ’s example of worship and service. Asbury Church is a community of Christians bound together by God’s grace.
Our mission is to live out the great commission (to go to all the world and tell the good news of God’s grace in Jesus Christ) by living into the greatest commandment (to love God will all our heart, mind, soul, and strength).
Asbury is a United Methodist congregation. But people of many different denominational backgrounds and of no religious affiliation find a home here. We are committed to making a difference by learning from and living with Jesus.
Members of Asbury Church live out our identity of “Salt and Light” in many ways. We support missions around the world that make a difference, and a number of our folks travel or have traveled to Alaska, Honduras, Nepal, Romania, Belize, and Costa Rica to build churches and to teach and to learn among the people in those countries. And, of course, we don’t have to go around the world to serve. We serve regionally through our Disaster Relief efforts. We have helped folks in northern Mississippi, Tennessee, Oklahoma, and most recently in Columbia, Miss. We serve locally in Petal and Hattiesburg through various missions and the support of the Petal Children’s Task Force.
We invite you to join us for worship each Sunday at 8:20 and 10:40 a.m. as we seek to live as the salt of the earth and the light of the world.
Jesus said: “You are the salt of the earth…You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden.” (Matthew 5.13-14)
